A new king, a new era

Get the coronation chicken sandwiches out, chuck that Victoria sponge onto the plate and throw the bunting and flags out again, it’s time to have another right royal celebration!

2022 was the year of Her late Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, and in true British fashion we threw a celebration to remember, one that the world watched in awe.

In July 2022, not too far away over in Launceston, the community poured into the Square as His Majesty and the Queen Consort, then the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, visited the town as part of their royal tour of Devon and Cornwall.

All eyes across the globe will be on us yet again as our country celebrates the reign of King Charles III as he takes his seat upon the throne alongside the Queen Consort.

The coronation will take place on Saturday, 6th May at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

His Majesty ascended to the throne upon Queen Elizabeth’s death on 8th September 2022. The Coronation will be steeped in tradition and is certainly an event to remember, whether you’re a royalist or not.

The Buckingham Palace website states: “The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.”
