The days are getting longer and (hopefully) a little warmer, the buds are emerging and with it, Cornwall begins to unfold, building to its busiest season.
Pubs, restaurants and cafés are starting to extend their opening hours, historic properties are opening their creaky doors and attractions are calling all visitors.
It is often said that you can forget to explore what is on your own doorstep. Luckily, there is such a wide variety of exciting things to do and explore in and around Bodmin that there is no need to travel too far afield for fun.
Here are just a few of our favourites!
Which type of adventurer are you?
The History Fans – Bodmin is steeped in history and there is a lot to explore from the wells dotted around the town, Bodmin Museum, Bodmin Keep: Cornwall’s Army Museum, to the impressive and memorable attraction that is Bodmin Jail. Have you explored the latest activities and exhibitions they all have to offer?
The Curious Minds – There is so much to learn and explore at Cornwall’s Science Museum, Discovering 42! They have tactile exhibits, regular activities and a café with a smoothie bike!
The Wanderers- Enjoy the beautiful, well-trodden paths around the Beacon Nature Reserve or take a short drive out of town and wander wistfully around Pencarrow House and its breath-taking gardens.
The ‘Cycle’ paths – If you’re ready to pick up the pace after a chilled winter then there is a great selection of places to enjoy a day of cycling. Hop onto the Camel Trail with café stops along the way, explore more of our rolling countryside at The Lanhydrock Estate or explore the light-dappled paths under a forest canopy at Cardinham Woods.
