The leaves are turning brown, it’s crunchy underfoot, and a chill is settling in the air - autumn is upon us and, while many of us will be looking forward to slowing down, cosying up and planting their feet firmly in snuggly slippers, others will be raring to go and wanting to discover some of the local events and activities to get up to this autumn.Â

Spooktacular Entertainment with intoBodminÂ
Fancy an evening away from the kids? Want to watch spine-tingling tales come to life? intoBodmin has two events to get audiences in the spirit of Halloween. On Thursday, 17th October, Keith Wallis - a theatre and film buff, and host of the podcast, ‘The Piskie Trap’, which explores the ancient folklore of Cornwall - will walk audiences through just some of the ghostly tales that haunt the lengths and breadths of the Cornish landscape. From spirits left wandering the desolate moors, and ancient apparitions, to harrowing stories of smugglers on the coast, this one-hour talk will delve into the history and stories of Cornish folklore and legends that have inspired so many for generations.Â
On Friday, 18th October, watch (or peek through your fingers) Bram Stoker’s classic gothic horror comes to life on stage. Dracula: The Vampyr is a one-man performance by Cornish actor, storyteller and Kneehigh founding member David Mynne and has already been labelled ‘deliciously dark, horribly hair-raising, and suitably silly’. This is suitable for adults and children over the age of 12.Â
Both events take place at the Old Library, 7.30pm. To book and for more information, visit https://intobodmin.co.uk/events/
