Get ready for the 76th St Tudy Carnival!

St Tudy Carnival is celebrating 76 years this summer, and the village is raring to go with this year's event!

After a smaller event was held last year, the carnival committee are pleased to welcome everyone back for a much bigger carnival in St Tudy this July - and there really is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

The first official carnival event starts with the 'Bleddy Ansum Breakfast' on Sunday, 3rd July between 9am and 12.30pm. Full Cornish breakfasts will be served in three sizes and will be accompanied by toast, tea, coffee, and juice. Space will fill quickly, so make sure you book your spot by messaging the carnival Facebook page or emailing sttudycarnival@outlook.com.

On Wednesday 6th July, the annual carnival quiz will take place, with this year's theme being television related. Teams of six are welcome to join in at the party tent on the playing field - plus a bar and hot food will be served during the interval. Entry is £3 per person and there will also be a blind raffle.

On Friday 8th July, the carnival cup football match will go ahead between Lee's Legends and Simon's Superstars. Gates open at 5pm for a 6.30pm kick-off, and Moorland Grills and Chaba's Krua Thai will be serving hot food throughout the evening. After the match, entertainment from 'Dollface' will commence and people can party through the night.

Saturday, 9th July is the main carnival day. With a designated car park field on Hengar Lane, visitors should follow the sign posts and marshall's directions before taking a short walk to the park through the stunning village of St Tudy.

Gates open at 4pm and there will be something for all the family, including bouncy castles, children's entertainment tent, dance groups, bands and carnival games, stalls, plus plenty of delicious food and drink.

Registration opens 5pm-5.50pm for all entrants, followed by judging and the procession which starts at 6.45pm, making its way from the field and around the village before returning.

Prize giving will include cash - £20 for 1st, £10 for 2nd and £5 for 3rd, plus trophies. The evening entertainment in the party tent will start at 8.30pm with the Tricade playing live.

The St Tudy Carnival committee said: "We hope to see you at St Tudy, where everyone is welcome. Come and join in the fun and be part of our carnival family."

St Tudy Carnival takes place on Saturday, 9th July.
