Using video to put Cornwall on the map...

With more than 25,000 online followers and reaching 100,000 people per month, Cornwall Channel - based just outside of Bodmin - is on a mission to deliver high quality video content and media services to optimise business growth.

Established in 2013 by Shane Solomon, with his talented crew, Cornwall Channel specialises in video production, live streaming and web shows, working with Cornish businesses so they can use filmed content on their own websites and social media platforms to further promote their work or services. Affordability is kept at the heart of Cornwall Channel’s work, meaning more people are able to invest in quality media for their business.

Shane, who has worked in video production for 15 years, told Bodmin Life more about Cornwall Channel’s mission: “When I started Cornwall Channel it was because of my passion and hobby for filmmaking. I had a passion to document and showcase Cornwall and its businesses using the power of online video in an affordable way - breaking down those barriers to professional video production for one and all.”

With beautiful views from the studio, and being located in Bodmin, which is so accessible to the rest of the county, Shane explained why promoting businesses and important messages through video is so beneficial to Cornwall: “Cornwall PLC is an amazing brand known the world over for it’s beauty and heritage. Any video content Cornish based that can be produced well and uploaded to sites such as YouTube and Facebook only attracts more viewers and potentially new customers. YouTube is the second largest search engine on the planet, and by not being on it, businesses really are missing out. Give your business a chance to get on people’s TV’s - all smart TV’s come with the YouTube app installed now.”

But what’s next for the team, and where will 2022 take them?

Shane added: “2021 has certainly been the most challenging year for us all but the business has not only survived, it has adapted and grown. For 2022 I see even more video content creation for the people and businesses of Bodmin using our very unique and personal service.”
