Get ready for Lanivet's tractor and vintage vehicle road run!

Every August the quiet lanes around Lanivet come alive to chug-chugs, hoots and whistles as the village’s annual tractor and vintage vehicle road run sets out on its tour of the area.

Vintage tractor enthusiasts and owners are accompanied by brand-new tractors and other agricultural vehicles, such as the two Unimogs, old trucks, lorries and vintage cars.

Most of the village turns out to view the vehicles and the 12-mile route is lined by people waving and cheering them on. The run stops at St Breock Downs for a morning snack (a crib break) where the raffle is also drawn while the engines cool down in preparation for the return trip.

This year the road run is on Sunday August 21, John Austin and his dog Freddie, with helpers, will be offering bacon sandwiches from 9am until the 10am start at the One for All Hall in Rectory Road.

Donations from participants go to help fund the Lanivet and District Under Fives charity which runs the pre-school in the church hall.
