Bodmin business plays its part

Bodmin Tidy It Team, also known as BlueTiTs, met operations supervisor Deborah and branch manager James at McDonald's Bodmin site with Cllr Jenny Cruse, to discuss rubbish!

Since Cllr Cruse’s first contact with the restaurant, McDonald’s in Bodmin has increased ‘trash walks’ along Launceston Road from weekly to daily, and litter in its car park is now cleared regularly throughout the day. The efforts the restaurant is making on behalf of customers should make a huge difference to the area.

A lot of the litter on Launceston Road does not originate from McDonald's, and ideally people would make use of the four bins along the road for rubbish disposal.

The Tidy It Team garden as well as litter pick, having recently removed weeds at Old Market Place amongst other projects. Several residents told volunteers how delighted they are with the new look and how it has had a positive effect on the area, stopping anti-social behaviour that used to occur under the cover of the overgrown bushes.

McDonald’s staff will be joining BlueTiTs at litter picking sessions once a month. Other businesses are invited to follow suit by contacting @BodminBlueTiTs on Facebook.
