Beacon Academy's Adventure Week!

Beacon Academy in Bodmin had a fantastic end to the spring term with the grand opening of their newly installed climbing boulder!

This was a momentous event attended by the whole school, chair of governors, Rob Blackhall, and director of The Tide Climbing Centre, Sophie Rearden. All the children made an incredible effort, dressing up as superheroes and well-known explorers to celebrate.

The week leading up to this event was enjoyed by every year group with a whole host of adventurous activities planned. From some of the youngest children in the school starting their very own fires at Badger Forest School to the oldest children Tobogganing at Plymouth Snow Sports Centre, every child pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone, developing resilience and a real love for the great outdoors.

Other years groups enjoyed climbing Rough Tor and visiting The Hurlers, walking part of the southwest coastal path at Trevone Bay, and making the most of their wonderful school grounds, mountain biking and go karting.

This exciting week wholeheartedly embodied Beacon’s school aims: Be Brave, Be Brilliant and Believe. What a brilliant way to end such a wonderful half term!
